Is Customer The King?
“Customer is the king“, did you ever say this to yourself or to your team member? Do you know most people are hard-wired to believe that customer is the king. And they are unaware of what believing this one statement can do to them.
When you believe customer is the king you subconsciously indicate that the customer is superior and you are inferior. This invisible communication often goes undetected. As a result, you end up treating the customer as king, yourself as slave.
This is the game of mental positioning.
So how does one change this mental positioning?
It is to consciously remember that customer is the king and you are the king too. You must mentally position yourself as a king while interacting with the customer because negotiation happens between two kings and not between two people who are positioned at different levels.
When we position the customer as king and do not position ourselves right, we subconsciously give others permission to let the conversations, negotiations, deals get dominated by them. As a result, the moment the customer starts to negotiate our energy drops and the king ends up dominating.
Isn’t that interesting?
You must always remember, if customer is the king you are the king too. only when two kings speak negotiations happen. When a king (a person of authority speaks) and a slave (a person of no authority speaks) one gets dominated by other, one wins and another loses.
Today and every day treat yourself as a king and respect your customers as well like a king.
